Better Hearing Matters at Every Age

Each May we kick off the annual Better Hearing Month with a push to inform those with hearing loss on how and why to seek help. Yet oftentimes we forget the preciousness of hearing at all ages, even for children. While most younger individuals haven't inflicted damage to their hearing from noise exposure, it is equally important to inform them of how to protect their hearing.
Last May one elementary school in Sayville, NY took it upon themselves to build awareness for the importance of better hearing. These elementary aged kids put together many compelling reasons why anyone, at any age, should care for their hearing. Not only did they learn about protecting their hearing but also about the importance of communication in their everyday lives, with hearing being a large component of that.
